چکیده

Abstract Two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) batch electrochemical degradation (ECD) of raw cotton industry wastewater (CIWW) was adopted using stainless steel (SS) aluminium (Al) electrodes. ECD as a treatment option aimed at removing priority quality parameters, viz. chemical oxygen demand (COD), colour, chloride, nitrate, etc. COD removal 85 80% were achieved by 3D SS 2D electrodes operated 6 V (0.9 A) for maximum electrolysis time (ET) 30 min. Similarly, 76 70% Al electrodes, respectively. Simultaneous colour in the system low 12 11% compared to system. Water total dissolved solids, phosphates, sulphate also removed (SS Al) Higher pollutant efficiencies observed min ET SS, Al, Al. Post-ECD slurry showed good settling characteristics generating dense sturdy flocs giving sludge volume index values other electrode options.

Operational Cost Analysis for the Treatment of Various Textile Effluents by Electrochemical Process Using Stainless Steel and Aluminum Electrodes

The development of treatment processes from laboratory scale to industries involves a lot of troubles due to the automation of process parameters and fluctuated characteristics of wastewater. In the present study, six different real-time textile effluents of samples such as S1 to S6 are characterized and treated by electrocoagulation process using Stainless Steel (SS) and Aluminum (Al) elec...

Electrochemical Characterization of a Martensitic Stainless Steel

This paper focused on the characterization of electrochemical behavior of a martensitic stainless steel in the acidic solutions. For this purpose, electrochemical parameters were derived from potentiodynamic polarization, Mott Schottky analysis and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. The potentiodynamic polarization results showed that corrosion current density of AISI 420 ...

Electrochemical deprotonation of phosphate on stainless steel

Voltammetric experiments performed in phosphate buffer at constant pH 8.0 on platinum and stainless steel revealed clear reduction currents, which were correlated to the concentrations of phosphate. On the basis of the reactions proposed previously, a model was elaborated, assuming that both H2PO4 and HPO4 2 underwent cathodic deprotonation, and including the acid–base equilibriums. A kinetic m...

Investigating electrochemical drilling (ECD) using statistical and soft computing techniques

In the present study, five modeling approaches of RA, MLP, MNN, GFF, and CANFIS were applied so as to estimate the radial overcut values in electrochemical drilling process. For these models, four input variables, namely electrolyte concentration, voltage, initial machining gap, and tool feed rate, were selected. The developed models were evaluated in terms of their prediction capability with m...
